About

Dr. Raghuvir Pissurlenkar is presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Goa College of Pharmacy (Affiliated to Goa University), Panaji Goa, INDIA.

He was previously working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bombay College of Pharmacy (University of Mumbai), Mumbai, INDIA, from year 2006 to 2014.

Dr. Pissurlenkar has completed his B. Pharm. from Goa College of Pharmacy (Goa University) in the year 2002 and obtained his M. Pharm. and Ph. D. (Tech.) Degrees from Bombay College of Pharmacy (University of Mumbai) in the year 2004 and 2010 respectively. His Ph. D. is in the subject of Pharmaceutical Chemistry on the research topic "Development of techniques for QSAR of Peptides" under the guidance of Professor Evans Coutinho, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bombay College of Pharmacy.

His research interests include Computer-aided Drug Design and Molecular Modeling. Many of his research projects are on 3D-QSAR, DFT calculations, docking, structure-based drug design, and protein modeling.

3D-QSAR studies (CoMFA, CoMSIA and CoRIA) focused on molecules synthesized as anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, anti-malarial and anti-tubercular agents for activity optimization.

Docking, Pharmacophore modeling assisted database screening studies for hits against various enzymatic targets.

DFT calculations based studies of metal ion and crown ethers complexes.
